Girls on the Run of San Diego is thrilled to announce the newest addition to our team.

Please join us in welcoming Sandy Rabourne as our Development and Marketing Manager. She arrives at GOTRSD with a wealth of personal and professional experience and is as warm hearted as they come. Keep reading to learn more about Sandy!

My name is Sandy Rabourne, and I am honored to join the talented and dedicated Girls On The Run San Diego team as the new Development and Fundraising Manager. I am excited to help advance the mission of Girls On The Run to inspire young women to be joyful, healthy and confident. My goal is to help the team further build our fundraising streams and systems to support the collective growth of our organization and those we serve. Achieving this goal will help us to encourage even more girls in San Diego County to understand and harness the power of their unlimited potential.

Prior to joining Girls On The Run San Diego, I grew and developed my skills in organizational management and fundraising for nonprofit agencies including Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation, the San Diego Food Bank and St. Vincent De Paul/Father Joe’s Villages. I hold a B.A. degree in Journalism with a minor in Psychology from the University of Central Florida, and I began my career in the publishing industry. I transitioned to the nonprofit arena after a diagnosis with breast cancer at a young age sparked my desire to contribute on a greater level to the underserved populations in our community. The opportunity to continue my work in the nonprofit arena at Girls On The Run is something for which I am truly grateful. I look forward to experiencing the camaraderie and positive energy that exudes from everyone I have met in the Girls On The Run community including our leader - Executive Director, Anna Maria Maybury, the staff, board members and our exceptional volunteers.

On a personal note, I grew up in the beautiful Pennsylvania countryside where my very first job was helping run my family’s third-generation farm. I currently live in Scripps Ranch with my husband. We enjoy hiking the many nature trails throughout our Lake Miramar neighborhood and being involved in our local community.

We are incredibly excited to have Sandy with us and we can’t wait to watch her uniqueness and talents activate unlimited potential in girls throughout the County. Sandy can be reached at sandy@gotrsd.org.
